Policy & Research
EMF’s Policy and External Affairs Team carries out a wide range of activities designed to further existing knowledge of issues affecting Britain’s minority ethnic communities through evidence-based research and the dissemination and sharing of best practice. The Team carries out in-house research as well as commissioning and managing scholarly work, regularly engaging in joined-up projects with research consultants and academic institutions. In addition, we partake in public policy consultations affecting the minority ethnic sector and actively seek the feedback of grass-roots organisations and groups.

Policy Consultations

EMF’s Policy and External Affairs Team engages extensively in public policy consultations in order to influence government policy as well as raising awareness of issues affecting Britain’s minority ethnic communities. This year the consultation themes we are responding to range from the Freedom of Information Act 2000: Designation of additional public authorities to Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007 – Relevant Third Party.
