This research was commissioned by the Food Standard Agency (FSA) and aimed at developing its knowledge base on Muslim women. A participatory approach was adopted, involving three focus groups in Bristol, London and Bolton. Findings revealed little knowledge and awareness of food labelling and participants felt that the information displayed was of little relevance to them. The following recommendations were made:
